Battelle's breakthrough Verity® mesh-insensitive structural stress method will be available worldwide as a result of an agreement recently reached with Safe Technology Ltd (see www.safetechnology.com/news.html#a37 for details). Each year, a variety of training courses on Verity® are offered to industry and academia.
For the current training schedule on metal fatigue and weld fatigue such as Verity® structural stress method, please visit the Safe Technology website, www.safetechnology.com/training.html.
Battelle also offers additional customized industry and company-specific training programs on state of the art modeling and analysis techniques for welding process optimization and design of welded structures.
The following training courses will be offered at Battelle’s location in Columbus, Ohio:
- Residual Stresses and Distortions in Welded Structures: Modeling, Analysis, and Mitigation, January 22-23, 2007
- The Mesh-Insensitive Structural Stress Method for Fatigue Evaluation of Welded Structures, January 23-24, 2007
Both courses will be taught by Dr Pingsha Dong, Center for Welded Structures Research. Dr. Dong has published over 180 peer-reviewed papers in archive journals, major conference proceedings and has lectured internationally as a keynote or invited speaker on fatigue/fracture of welded structures and advanced process computational modeling techniques for welding/joining processes. He has received numerous prestigious awards/recognitions, including R&D Magazine’s R&D 100 Award (2006), TIME Magazine’s Math Innovator (2005), Aviation Week and Space Technology’s Aerospace Laurels Award (2004), SAE’s Henry Ford II Distinguished Award for Excellence in Automotive Engineering (2003), etc.
